Choose either the 172724 acrylic bin for beta emitters or the 3mm thick lead lined bin for gamma emitting radionuclides. Both are 6 rdquo;L x 16 rdquo;H x 6 rdquo;W and will accommodate most glass and plastic pipettes.

Dynalon Labware Gamma protection products are all fabricated with a 3mm thick lead lining. Gamma g rays are produced when an unstable isotope such as 125I enters into nuclear decay. This form of electromagnetic radiation is attenuated by lead. The gamma rays intensity decreases exponentially as the thickness of the lead increases.
The recommended thickness of lead for use with 125I is 0.5mm, Dynalon uses 3mm lead for all of our gamma protection products. Other isotopes shielded by our products include 32P, 51CR, 35S, 33P, 3H and 14C. The enclosed boxes are perfect for short term storage of isotopes and contaminated labware.
